SmartMan Airway Management 2 (AM2) extends all of the features of Airway Management 1 and provides the highest level realism for less commonly used management skills. What sets AM2 apart is its use of the latest high-tech materials. These offer greater durability and yet also impart a greater realism for visibility, touch and feel.
Delta Tidal Flow Interaction System is a proprietary V4EMS technology. It is only found on advanced SmartMan Simulators. This technology provides real-time feedback on the movement of air in and out of the lungs as skills are performed. The immediate feedback on volume and the physical sensation of suction when ventilating under pressure are just some of the innovative aspects that prepare learners for real-world challenges.
The heightened realism of this design provides a realistic training for placing of the nasopharyngeal tube. Lots of lubricant and proper technique provide for excellent practice. Upon placement, move directly to ventilating with real time feedback or move to nasotracheal placement.
This is a difficult skill which is only used in special circumstances. This new robust design allows full practice for this advanced skill.
Intubation. Invasive procedures require correct positioning of the head and identification of landmarks as the procedure proceeds. This manikin provides a high level of realism for practice with various perilaryngeal devices. It is especially good for practicing placement of the endotracheal tube with laryngoscopy and with a video laryngoscope Increase the tongue edema to add a bit high level of challenge to the training.
Includes the time it takes the student to successfully place the device. It also will verify that the cuff is properly sealing.
Real Time Ventimeter
The high degree of accuracy of SmartMan means that we can measure and display the movement of the air into the lungs as it occurs. It will be true to the volume and rate of flow.
SmartMan provides the correct landmarks within the larynx to practice use of the laryngoscopy and placing the ET Tube. More difficult to master is to perform this quickly and to establish the airway on the first attempt. SmartMan will give you feedback on the timing and when the cuff is holding air.
This is a high fidelity airway which can take most laryngeal and para-laryngeal devices. It is suitable for practicing how to place the ET Tube. Besides the physical landmarks, you receive full digital feedback on the time it takes you, whether the cuff is holding air, and it will provide you with an overall score on the whole procedure.
