With an Advanced Airway, there are several different scenarios and protocols which will be more realistic if you purchase particular add-ons. For example if you mostly practice on a gurney or a bed, arms and legs are a must have. On the other hand, if you transport the manikin and put it on the floor or ground, then the convenience of just having a torso is an important consideration.
Bring SmartMan manikin to life with attachable arms and legs! The arms and legs can be attached to all BLS, ALS, and Megacode torso manikins. They are light weight and come with carry bag for easy transportation and storage.
IV Trainer. The IV Trainer allows for insertion of cannulas and catheters, infusion of fluids, and injection of medication. It features realistic movements, pulse simulation, and incorporates 3 veins and 1 artery. Replaceable skins and veins have characteristic closure after punctures, extending the lifetime of the arm. It can be hooked into the shoulder of the BLS, ALS, Megacode and SIM1 SmartMan products for a more realistic training session.
The IV arm attaches to the right should of the manikins. It also has a stand alone support for practice without the manikin.
IntraOsseous (I.O.) Infusion. This kit allows training of intraosseous infusion procedure. Trainees learn to identify the palpable landmarks, including the patella, tibia, and tibial tuberosity. This versatile kit is compatible with all commercially available devices for intraosseous infusion and applied using realistic pressure. The kit contains 1 bone, 5 injection pads, and 5 skins.
The I.O. Leg is required for this kit to be installed. The legs clip onto the waist of the manikin.
SmartMan has developed the only system to provide proper pressure in relation to movement of air into and out of the lungs. This dynamic responsive system is referred to as the Delta Tidal Flow Interactive System (DTFIS). This is important for more realistic training.
BVM: When using a BVM, it gives the student chest resistance and proper tidal flow to both the inhalation and exhalation phases. It also displays the terminal pressure.
Intubated CPR During Intubated CPR, this feature will help correct incorrect habits established from training on less accurate systems. DTFIS provides pressure in the thorax ad lungs which provides real physical life-like feel when giving the ventilation. It changes the volumes so that it mimics how it occurs on a real human being. It forces proper coordination between the two rescuers. SmartMan's DTFIS dramatically change performance of this difficult skill for the benefit of the patient.
High Density / Low Volume Protocol: This protocol requires accurate air flow relating to the pressure on the esophageal sphincter and the pressures created by the chest compressions as it moves up and down. DTFIS provides the physical correlate and the real air flow to be able to practice this protocol. It also provides the crucial timings for practicing this protocol. Many innovative systems have adapted this protocol to their own needs. It goes by many different names, for example: High Density Training, Low Volume Training, CAMS, ART, BART, PitCrew, ROC, etc. This feature is available for all SmartMan manikin training systems.

An extended warranty for all SmartMan products is available. This warranty adds a second and third to the one year manufacturers warranty.
A wheeled duffel can be ordered as an option. This replaces the gray carry mat. The torso manikin fits into the base and is held with a harness. It comes with a kneeling pad. There are room for all cables, computer, Smartman Infant (Baby or Neonate) and still have space left over. With the manikin it ships as regular luggage on planes.
